Storage Area Network Solution
The purpose of the project is to provide a total Storage Area Network solution, e.g. store terabytes of data in the library (special storage for data), and work with them with the same conventions and velocity as with the data stored on hard disks. These hard disks may be included into the structure of SCSI RAID subsystem. Friendly graphical user Interface gives possibility to access the system through Internet from any point on the Earth. The user can see the system monitoring data and provide administration of the system. Also there is capability to work with the system from command line interface (CLI).
A special virtual file system (SNFS file system), a volume manager and a tertiary manager are the three major components of the project. The following diagram illustrates the overall structure of the Client and Appliance systems from programming architect point of view.
GUI allows the system administrator to operate the special virtual file system, volume manager and tertiary manager in full through a single interface. There is the capability to operate in the basic mode or to enter an advanced mode. Extensive help is available as a part of the system.
